The logo shows an S stylized as an ocean creature with tentacles and a red eye, which symbolizes Seattle’s long maritime history and at the same time links the club with the Seattle Metropolitans, the logo of which was the letter S and which played in the Pacific Coast Hockey Association (PCHA) and won the Stanley Cup in 1917.
The Seattle club is owned by Seattle Hockey Partners, a group of investors led by billionaire David Bonderman and TV movie producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
