The club is named after the Jersey Devil, a creature of legend with wings like a bat, a head like a horse with a ram's horns, a long neck, front paws with claws and bifurcated hooves and a tail that lives in southern New Jersey.

The logo depicts a monogram of the letters N and J, with the upper part going into the horns and the lower part into the devil’s tail. The club colors are red, black, and white.
